Raccoon control?

Our neighbour next door in the city has had problems with raccoons leaving droppings on their back porch. They recently doused the (wood) porch with Pinesol and the raccoons have not been back.
Has anyone else tried this?

re wakes

We do not understand why those wishing to create large wakes insist on speeding through and around our quiet bays in their wake boats. The continual wave action they create is wreaking havoc on our shorelines, severely damaging floating docks and disturbing cottagers who wish calm time when away from the city.
Surely the main sections of our lake are large enough for these people to enjoy themselves without affecting others as, if kept to the centre of these bodies of water, their wakes will be disipated by the time they reach shore.
Please have consideration for your neighbours and take your play into the big water. Remember there are speed limits posted which could be enforced if we request it.
